guide praised by Lady Tumin, Chair of the
Advisory Committee on Teenage Pregnancy

olton author Blooming Media, has worked with Liverpool's Sefton Sure Start to create a guide for pregnant teenagers believed to be the first of its kind in the country.

At its launch this week the guide was hailed as a boon for young mums, to make a decent start in life, with its advice and information

The guide helps young mums to gain autonomy in making effective decisions for their future, with its thoroughly researched information and advice.

on everything from health and housing to child care, education, and money issues.

Lady Winifred Tumin, chair of the government's Teenage Pregnancy Advisory Unit, praised the guide for its clear, simple language and for helping young mums understand the often complicated benefits system.

Young mums and mums-to-be were consulted about the guide to ensure its relevance to them, explained author Blooming Media.

The guide is additionally used by the agencies advising young mums, such as Connexions staff, health professionals.

Blooming Media’s company produces factual, easy-to-understand learning materials in issues such as Drugs and Sex Education and bullying. They also produce university course materials for nurses and midwives.
